Job summary

Bon Appetit in Berrien Springs, MI is seeking a General Manager to oversee the account within the approved budget while meeting client expectations. You will maintain excellent relationships with staff, guests and the client, and promote professional growth of the team.

You will drive operations by managing food cost, scheduling, training, HACCP compliance, and menu planning with chefs. This role requires strong leadership and a proven track record in upscale food service management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 8–10 years upscale food service experience, including 6 years at management level.
• Experience in personnel management including hiring, supervision, evaluation and succession planning.
• Proven track record to achieve company goals in compliance with company/client policies and procedures.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills, attention to detail.
• Supervisory, scheduling, training and coaching skills.
• Experience in food purchasing, food costs and inventory control.
• Knowledge of HACCP controls and proper food storage/use.

Responsibilities

• Participates in employee meetings, reviews and training programs.
• Manages in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
• Manages in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Maintains food cost while ensuring quality standards.
• Establishes good rapport with staff, client and guest and other departments.
• Manages financial reporting with sales reports, P&L, budgets and cash handling.
• Plans menus in consultation with chefs.
• Monitor HACCP controls and proper storage and use of food.
