Job summary

Republic Services seeks a General Manager to lead a Business Unit with full P&L responsibility, directing an infrastructure team across Operations, Fleet Management, Sales, Finance, HR, Safety and Environmental Compliance.

The role requires implementing a local market strategy, driving profitability, ensuring safety, and delivering growth through cross-functional leadership and change initiatives within a matrix organization.

Qualifications

Demonstrated business acumen and strategic thinking with execution focus.
Ability to lead large-scale change initiatives and multi-site operations.
Proven track record directing teams across multiple functions to achieve corporate strategy.
Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
Experience in labor relations and building high-performance sales and operations teams.

Responsibilities

Implements and executes plans to support the Area’s strategic operating plan; champions the execution of the strategic plan and tactical initiatives within the Business Unit.
Drives commercial growth by working with Area and Region sales management across various customer segments.
Oversees safety and accident prevention programs to ensure a safe environment for all employees.
Leads operations to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, regulatory, accounting and ethical standards.
Manages performance and talent development across the organization.
Builds strong relations with government, community and environmental groups.
Travel up to 30% as required; performs other duties as assigned.
