Job summary

Aafes is seeking an experienced leader to supervise facility managers across Exchange locations within a region and adjust store goals based on regional directives. The role includes performing store manager duties at the primary facility and maintaining sales in line with Volume Standards.

The position requires substantial experience in retail/food/services leadership, with a path to contracting authority for General Manager. Relocation/onsite requirements apply at Dyess AFB Exchange in Texas.

Qualifications

• Six years of progressive retail/food/services management experience.
• One year of experience in roles such as Main Store Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager, or equivalent within the last five years.
• Associate must obtain General Manager contracting authority within 7 days of assuming this role.
• Bachelor's degree and four years of progressive retail/food/services management experience; one year at pay band 4-2/4-3 level or equivalent.
• Associate must obtain General Manager contracting authority within 7 days of assuming this role.

Responsibilities

• Manages financial analysis, budgeting, and business planning activities.
• Monitors performance of staff to ensure goals and targets are met; takes corrective actions as necessary.
• Oversees daily operations of the Exchange and coordinates with retail, food, services, HR, and loss prevention.
• Develops, trains, coaches, and mentors managers and associates for future development.
• Intervenes with military command elements including town hall, weekly and staff meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Manages multiple store managers and adjusts sales goals and procedure as appropriate for the store based on goals set by region leadership. Performs duties of store manager for primary facility, typically a main store. As a volume-based position, grading is dependent on maintaining sales in accordance with published Volume Standards.

Job Qualifications

Six years of progressive retail/food/services management experience. One year of experience must include the following within the last five years: Main Store Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager, Sales & Merchandise Manager, Exchange Retail Business Manager, Exchange Business Manager, Branch Store, Region Food Program Specialist, Region Service Program Specialist or Region Retail Program Specialist. One year of experience at the pay band 4-2/4-3 level or equivalent industry experience is required.
