Overview

MV Transportation is seeking a General Manager who will support and oversee daily university shuttle operations, provide direction to assigned operating locations, and ensure delivery of annual business plans. He/she will control the daily operation of our transportation contract, in compliance with the policies of the contracting agency and in conformance with company procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively manage customer relations through both direct contact and outreach programs.
  • The manager's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, monitoring schedule adherence, reporting and investigation of reckless operation, and on-time route compliance. This supervision will include conducting ride checks (on-board) to ensure operator adherence to procedures.
  • Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff.
  • Effectively and frequently communicate with location staff and support team members.
  • The manager will perform on-going inspections to ensure a high level of performance and work practices.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and ensure fleet availability to meet service requirements.
  • Oversee safety and training programs, plans, and processes to ensure compliance with company, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain client contact routinely to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Conduct periodic departmental audits.
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly review of key operational metrics.
  • Ensure that all location financial metrics are managed continuously, exceptions are reported, and action plans are developed to ensure the location meets its financial, safety, and operational expectations.
  • Implement, promote, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide insight and information to support location(s) contract renewals.
  • Create and present the location(s) annual budget.
  • Manager will need to be reachable during daily operations and in times of emergency. After normal business hours, the manager must be accessible and respond promptly to MD Anderson by means of cellphone or email in case of an emergency.
Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of managing a shuttle program in transit operations.
  • Must have a full understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and safety, DOT, and FTA compliance.
  • MS Office, strong analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a high degree of multi-tasking skills.
  • A dd itional duties/responsibilities based upon i ndividual contract requirements.
