Job description

An established destination hospitality venue, event center, and beverage producer near Houston is seeking an entrepreneurial, commercially minded General Manager to lead its operations and next era of expansion.

Operating across direct-to-consumer experiences, a high-volume venue, customer loyalty programs, regional distribution, and private gatherings, this property provides a unique combination of strong market presence and high commercial potential. With significant multi-faceted facility expansions, expanded product lines, and premier event capabilities currently underway, this role offers full operational leadership to scale a unique hospitality destination.

This opportunity is built for a hands-on operator who thinks like an owner. Reporting directly to an accessible executive ownership team, the General Manager will have total day-to-day command of commercial strategy, banquet and private event sales, labor efficiency, team structure, and overall financial performance.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Maintain complete P&L accountability across all property profit centers.
  • Expand top-line revenue while optimizing operating margins, labor percentages, and bottom-line EBITDA.
  • Drive aggressive business development and conversion pipelines for weddings, corporate banquets, and private events to capitalize on the newly constructed premier banquet facility.
  • Direct daily front-of-house operations across the tasting room, private events, retail sales, wine club programs, and large-scale seasonal festival activations.
  • Partner with the resident winemaking team as an operational peer, establishing standard operating systems while production focuses purely on craft and product quality.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, schedule, and lead department managers and front-line staff across guest services, events, hospitality, and facilities, building a high-energy culture of accountability and clear role delegation.
  • Oversee commercial distribution initiatives and support the launch and commercialization of new packaged beverage lines.
  • Establish, standardize, and audit standard operating procedures (SOPs) for point-of-sale systems, event booking engines, inventory tracking, cash control, pour costs, and tip distribution.
  • Develop weekly operational and financial dashboard reports tracking revenue, labor percentages, event conversion, and membership acquisition for executive ownership reviews.
  • Formulate a rolling 24-month strategic business and property master plan outlining capital priorities, operational efficiencies, and sustained growth initiatives.
Position Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of senior operational leadership experience within high-volume, multi-revenue hospitality environments, such as breweries, premier wedding/event venues, private clubs, destination resorts, entertainment destinations, or upscale restaurants.
  • Demonstrated financial management and turnaround experience, with proven accountability for budgets exceeding $2.5M, measurable cost and labor reductions, and verifiable margin expansion.
  • Proven commercial sales acumen, with documented success achieving 15%+ revenue growth through proactive private event sales, corporate bookings, weddings, or recurring membership programs.
  • Demonstrated experience hiring, structuring, and holding accountable teams of 15 to 30+ full-time and seasonal/event personnel.
  • Entrepreneurial stamina, high emotional intelligence, and hands-on leadership capable of thriving alongside dedicated founders and creative production artisans.
  • Beverage packaging, wholesale distribution, or ready-to-drink canning experience is considered a strong plus (winery cellar knowledge is not required).
  • Performance Bonus: Quarterly profit-based incentive program targeting $20,000 to $40,000+ in annual bonus potential
  • Benefits & Perks: Monthly insurance stipend, 2 weeks paid vacation, 5 paid sick days, and more!
  • Relocation Assistance Available on a Case-by-Case basis.
