Innovative Consulting & Management Services (ICMS) is seeking a Medium/ High Voltage Linesman to join our team onsite in Beltsville, Maryland, for a contract position. The candidate will install, maintain, inspect and repair electrical systems in commercial/industrial settings and support after-hours emergencies when required.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED or vocational training, 5+ years’ experience or completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship, and valid CDL Class B

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; vocational/technical graduates preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience or 4-year outside electrical apprenticeship completion.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on distribution and transmission systems.
• Rig poles, inspect transformers, voltage regulators and capacitors, and reclosers on energized or de-energized high voltage circuits.
• Set towers, string transmission/ distribution cables, install crossarms, insulators, and switchgear.
• Utilize specialized diagnostics to isolate faulted primary and secondary equipment, testing electrical continuity and conductor safety.
• Possess analytical skills necessary to recognize, diagnose, and, within limits, repair equipment and system malfunctions.
• Understand verbal and written instructions and to give readily understood information in both verbal and written forms.
• Support after hours and weekend emergencies to repair outages, downed lines and other related issues.

ICMS is looking forMedium/ High Voltage Linesman to join our team onsite for a contract in Beltsville, Maryland . Successful candidates are responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of electrical systems with experience in commercial and industrial settings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on distribution and transmission systems

Required Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma or GED is standard. Preference is highly weighted toward graduates of vocational/technical programs
• 5+ years’ experience or 4-year accredited Outside Electrical Apprenticeship Program completion.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures and the confidence to suggest additional safety procedures.
• Must be able at times to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English.
• Ability to pass a physical examination/ fit for duty assessment

Required Licenses and Certifications:

• A valid CDL Class B driver's license (with no major infractions) is required
• OSHA 10/30 Training
• First Aid/ CPR Certification
• Pole top/ bucket truck rescue competency.
• Journeyman License issued by the State of Maryland
• Applicable industry certifications and training (NEC, HFPA 70E, PLC Training)

Security Clearance:

All contractor personnel must attain and maintain a USDA LincPass and pass a background check; personnel must be U.S. Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents.

Job Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time Onsite Position (Telecommute not considered for this position)

Work schedules are subject to change based on client and company needs. As a management position, this person will be on call regularly and be available for and respond to emergencies off shift.

Hourly Pay: $36.28 per hour
