Job summary

MP Materials in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Manager, General Ledger Accounting to oversee the general ledger close, ensure accurate financial reporting, and uphold GAAP compliance.

You will coordinate cross‑functional close activities, review journal entries and reconciliations, and strengthen internal controls while partnering with Accounting and Finance leadership to drive process improvements and support audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA license.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with 5+ in GL/corporate accounting at a public company.
• Experience in manufacturing/mining/industrial environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.
• SOX compliance, external audits, and financial reporting experience.
• Prior people leadership or readiness to lead a team.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, OneStream/Hyperion, and related reporting tools.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly/quarterly/annual close calendars with multiple departments.
• Lead general ledger close activities with accurate, timely documentation.
• Review/approve journal entries, reconciliations, and internal controls docs.
• Resolve open items in reconciliations with business partners.
• Analyze financial results to identify trends and close matters.
• Support cross-functional reporting with AP, Payroll, Tax, and Operations.
• Maintain and improve SOX controls and remediation efforts.
• Support internal/external audits with schedules and explanations.
• Participate in ERP implementations and GL process design.
• Provide ad hoc analyses and assist leadership with presentations.
