Job summary

MP Materials in Las Vegas, NV, seeks a Manager, General Ledger Accounting to oversee the full general ledger close, journal entries, reconciliations, and internal controls. You will partner with Accounting and Finance leadership to strengthen processes, support audits, and ensure U.S.

GAAP compliance across assigned areas. The role requires leadership of a team, strong analytical skills, and experience with SAP S/4HANA and OneStream.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA license is required.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience; public company or Big 4 preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience in SOX compliance and external audits is preferred.
• ERP experience with SAP S/4HANA and related financial systems is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual close calendars with cross-functional teams.
• Lead general ledger close activities with accurate documentation.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and internal control documentation.
• Oversee timely resolution of open items in reconciliations with business partners.
• Analyze financial results to identify trends and close matters.
• Support audit requests with schedules and explanations.
• Participate in system implementations and process design affecting the general ledger close.
• Provide coaching and prioritization support to accounting team members.
