Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a senior leader for its Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team.

The role reports to the Chief Legal Officer & Chief Compliance Officer and will lead across Product, Regulatory, Licensing, Litigation, and Enforcement in the US and international jurisdictions. You will build and mentor a team of professionals and partner with the executive team to align legal strategy with the company’s growth.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and a state bar member in good standing.
• 20 years of legal experience, including law firm and government or in-house.
• Expert knowledge of federal and state consumer protection, fintech, and litigation.
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking with cross-functional consensus skills.
• Experience interfacing with executive leaders, boards, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to translate long-term strategy into near-term action and mentor teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for Product, Regulatory, Innovation, Licensing, Litigation, and Enforcement.
• Provide leadership through senior legal leaders to align priorities and organizational effectiveness.
• Counsel senior management, executives, boards, and regulators as a trusted advisor.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders on product, innovation, and regulatory matters.
• Oversee regulatory inquiries, bank partner examinations, and enforcement actions with risk mitigation.
• Develop cross-functional solutions to address complex company-wide problems and build consensus.
• Manage budgets and outside counsel spend to support legal work.
