Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Heart in Manchester, TN seeks a Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiologist for a full-time position. Join an established team of physicians and APPs in a nonprofit health system with local autonomy and mission-driven service.

Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients, coordinating discharge planning, and participating in academic activities. Licensure in TN and DEA registration are required prior to hire.

• Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, including on-call schedules.

About the Facility

• Established practice featuring a long-standing providers, and access to rotating heart failure and electrophysiology specialists.

• Serving a population of Middle TN, Northern AL, MS, KY

• Integrated referral network

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.

• Recommend, participates in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.

• Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.

• Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.

• Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.

• Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
