Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Middle Tennessee (Murfreesboro, TN) seeks an OB/GYN physician to provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient women's health services, including prenatal care, high-risk obstetrics, and hospital deliveries.

Join a stable team with 3 physicians and 3 APPs, a balanced schedule, and access to Da Vinci robotic surgery. Eligible for licensure in Tennessee and board certification/eligibility in obstetrics & gynecology is required.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners required.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in obstetrics & gynecology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient and inpatient women's health services, including prenatal care and high-risk obstetric management.
  • Deliver hospital births and perform routine gynecologic care and procedures.
  • Participate in comprehensive care with a multidisciplinary team and maintain a patient-centered approach.

How you’ll make an impact in this role
  • Join an established practice currently comprising 3 physicians and 3 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
  • Balanced Workweek: 2 to 2.5 Clinic Days, 2 Procedure Days, 0.5 Day Administrative Time
  • Call Structure: Dedicated OB Hospitalist (Laborist) coverage manages unassigned patients, L&D triage, and OB emergency cases, eliminating traditional after-hours office call and protecting your quality of life.
  • Practice setting: Outpatient OB/GYN clinic with access to state-of-the-art patient rooms, modern surgical suites, and Da Vinci robotic surgery technology.
  • Patient Population: Dedicated community-based women's health practice delivering care to a complex, resource-intensive patient base.
  • Employed position within a national nonprofit Catholic health system
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible inobstetrics & gynecology
  • Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration

  • Direct comprehensive outpatient and inpatient women's health services, conducting routine and complex prenatal care, high-risk obstetric management, routine gynecologic care, hospital deliveries, outpatient/inpatient procedures, and laparoscopic or da Vinci robotic surgeries
About the Facility
  • 411-bed facility serving a regional population of approximately 350,000 and delivering over 3,500 babies annually.
  • Features the newly opened 22-bed Lee and Susan Moss Family Neonatal Level III Intensive Care Unit to manage high-acuity infants close to home.
  • Multi-million dollar expansion adding 12,000 sq. ft., including 14 LDR rooms, 36 Postpartum suites, 4 LDRPs, and additional shelled space for future growth.
  • Robust multidisciplinary collaboration with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, and specialized OB nursing teams.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
