Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a senior GenAI/Platform Engineer to own the technical build and deployment of Gemini-based agents and RAG pipelines. You will design, implement, and scale agentic solutions across higher education clients, collaborating with Data and Ops teams to ensure data readiness and reliable deployments.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, model selection/tuning, integration engineering, and delivery execution with a focus on platform reuse and quality.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building GenAI/agentic AI solutions in production.
• Direct experience with Gemini Enterprise Platform or Vertex AI preferred; ramping on Google stack ok.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy agentic assistants on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with grounding.
• Build live API and tool-calling integrations for client systems.
• Deliver quality and release readiness through evaluation and testing.
