United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Sr. Staff Engineer (GenAI) to architect and productionize an autonomous support agent.

You will lead end-to-end agent architecture, ensure reliability, and push GenAI tooling for multilingual customer service at global scale. You will mentor teams, define strategy, and drive automation across product, design, and operations to improve coverage and reduce cost per contact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building production ML/AI systems.
• Deep expertise in LLM-driven systems (inference optimization, prompt design, safety guardrails).
• Strong Python software engineering experience plus Go/Java/C++.
• Hands-on with microservices, gRPC/HTTP, cloud infra, containers, CI/CD, and observability.
• Demonstrated ownership of high-availability services with SLO/SLA design and on-call leadership.
• Track record shipping customer-facing intelligent experiences with measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end agent architecture: planning, memory, persona/voice, routing, and policy enforcement for brand-consistent conversations.
• Ship production systems handling millions of conversations with SLOs, fallbacks, and canaries; enable human handoffs and safety guardrails.
• Advance retrieval and reasoning pipelines enabling cross-source search and policy-driven tool use.
• Establish meaningful evals: offline rubrics, safety tests, cost/latency tradeoffs, CI/CD integration.
• Drive automation with product/design/ops on coverage, localization, rollout strategies, and cost per contact.
• Mentor multiple pods and set technical strategy and quality bars.
