Job summary

WM is seeking a Gas Technician I to operate and maintain a landfill gas collection and control system (GCCS) at our Ball Ground site. You will work under the Gas Operations Manager to ensure regulatory compliance and optimize system performance.

The role involves fieldwork in varied weather, data collection, and routine maintenance of pumps, valves, and piping. Training will cover GCCS operations and safety protocols, with on-call responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• No experience required; training provided.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience in environmental fieldwork or mechanical trades preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather.
• Basic data entry and interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain GCCS equipment and collect data.
• Calibrate, operate and maintain data collection devices for LFG collection.
• Implement GCCS preventative maintenance plan.
• Perform maintenance on pumps and piping; troubleshoot as needed.
• Be available for on-call GCCS malfunctions and report issues promptly.
