Job summary

DHL Express, Inc. seeks a Gateway Clearance Supervisor to verify tariffs, weight, and shipping documents for imports/exports. You will ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations and coordinate with customs to release freight and resolve delays.

Lead a staff of about 30, hire and coach employees, and set performance standards while driving efficient customs clearance across DHL facilities.

Qualifications

• U.S. Customs BrokerLicense preferred
• Broad understanding of supervisory principles and practices
• Advanced understanding of supervisory responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates customs clearance activities efficiently and cost-effectively
• Ensures compliance with federal and foreign regulations for shipments
• Establishes policies, procedures and service standards for customs clearance
• Monitors policy adherence across DHL facilities
• Meets KPIs for assigned product line and supervises ~30 staff
• Handles hiring, coaching, and development of subordinates
• Assigns work, sets deadlines, and reviews performance with adherence to policies
