Job summary

DHL Express is seeking a Clearance Manager to lead customs clearance operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Participating Government Agencies while driving efficiency in day-to-day activities.

The role includes coaching teams, managing performance, and implementing process improvements within established governance. The ideal candidate holds a BS/BA and 3–5 years of supervisory experience in customs clearance/international trade, with strong communication, analytical, and software

Qualifications

Typically requires BS/BA and 3–5 years of experience in Customs Clearance/International Trade in a supervisory or management role.
Demonstrated success in leading, supervising, managing, motivating and developing staff.
Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple tasks and set priorities.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
General knowledge of U.S. Customs and international trade with understanding of valuation, classification, compliance/audit and trade programs.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

Responsibilities

Provide expert advice to internal and external customers.
Ensure staff operations adhere to established timeframes and governance standards.
Seek out and implement process improvement opportunities.
