Job summary

DHL Express is hiring a Gateway Supervisor to oversee customs clearance activities and ensure compliance for shipments through DHL facilities. This role includes coordinating staff, reviewing procedures, and meeting key performance indicators.

The ideal candidate will have a BS/BA and 3–5 years of related experience with supervisory responsibilities, and the ability to obtain a SIDA badge as required for access to secured airport areas.

Qualifications

• BS/BA and 3–5 years of related field experience, including at least one year of supervisory experience
• Professional certification required in some areas
• Access to secured airport areas; must obtain SIDA badge and pass background checks

Responsibilities

• Manages customs clearance activities in gateway environment efficiently and cost-effectively
• Ensures compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing shipments
• Establishes, monitors, and revises policies, procedures, and service standards for customs clearance operations
• Ensures all policies and procedures are consistently administered
• Responsible for meeting KPI targets for the product
• Supervises staff of ~30 with two direct reports; hires, coaches, trains, and develops subordinate staff
• Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work and manages performance
