Job summary

DHL Express is seeking a qualified Clearance Manager to ensure Customs compliance and efficient day-to-day operations for our clearance agents. The role leads a team, coaches staff, and drives process improvements in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Reporting to the Senior Clearance Manager, you will balance adherence to regulations with operational performance, build strong customer relationships, and support global trade programs while maintaining security and accuracy in all shipments.

Qualifications

• BS/BA and 3-5 years of experience in Customs Clearance/International Trade in a supervisory or management role.
• Demonstrated success in leading, supervising, managing, motivating and developing staff.
• Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple tasks and set priorities.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
• General knowledge of U.S. Customs and international trade processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice to internal and external customers.
• Ensure staff operations meet timeframes and governance standards and comply with Customs/OGA rules.
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
• Ensure policies and procedures are consistently administered.
• Assigns work, sets deadlines, reviews performance, and manages staff in line with policies.
• Meet key performance indicators and targets.
• Manage a large group of staff via supervisors or professionals; oversee associate roles.
• Conduct performance coaching and evaluations per policy.
