Job summary

Beloit Health System is seeking a Gastroenterology Technician to join the Gastroenterology Department at Beloit Memorial Hospital. The role involves supporting physicians and nursing staff during GI procedures, preparing rooms and equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

The GI Tech will handle room setup, equipment cleaning, specimen handling, and strict infection control. Candidates should have healthcare experience and CPR certification eligibility within three months of hire.

Qualifications

• CPR certification or certification eligible within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain endoscopy procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist physicians and nursing staff during gastroenterology procedures (sigmoidoscopy, esophageal dilatation, endoscopy, colonoscopy).
• Clean, disinfect, and reprocess endoscopes and related equipment per guidelines.
• Monitor inventory and maintain adequate supplies for scheduled procedures.
• Transport and assist patients throughout the procedural process.
• Collect, label, and transport specimens as needed.
