Job summary

Harlingen Medical Center is seeking a GI Technician to support endoscopic procedures and patient care in the gastroenterology department. You will assist physicians during colonoscopies and endoscopies, prepare patients, and maintain equipment and room sterility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience (required for new hires).
• 2+ years experience in a GI setting preferred (on-the-job training acceptable).
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures (colonoscopy, endoscopy).
• Set up and assist with endoscopic equipment; ensure sterilization and functionality.
• Monitor patient vital signs during procedures and alert team of changes.
• Maintain infection control; ensure cleanliness of instruments and rooms.
