Job summary

University Health is seeking a professional to manage the administrative and clinical duties in the Gastro-Intestinal procedure room and to assist physicians in all endoscopic procedures. The role includes GI function diagnostic tests and delivering post-procedure patient care, including recovery and observation.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and endoscopy experience, with current AHA BLS certification. Previous hospital or military hospital tech experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Endoscopy experience preferred.
• Must have current AHA BLS card (Healthcare Provider or Instructor).

Responsibilities

• Manage admin and clinical duties of the GI procedure room.
• Assist physicians in endoscopic procedures and GI tests.
• Provide immediate post-procedure patient care, recovery and observation.

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the administrative and clinical duties of the Gastro-Intestinal procedure room and assists physicians in all types of endoscopic procedures, G.I. function diagnostic tests and post-procedure patient care (recovery, observation). Ensures quality, efficiency and safety in the performance of technical work, the immediate post-procedure care of patients and in the proper handling of supplies and equipment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent experience is required. Previous endoscopy experience is preferred. Previous hospital experience or experience as a military hospital tech (orderly) and/or nursing assistant is preferred. Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.
