Job summary

SCA Health in Colorado is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Gastroenterology to support perioperative care across the GI specialty. You will assess preoperative and postoperative status, monitor cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological systems, and ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative continuum.

You will develop individualized care plans, administer medications safely, and collaborate with physicians, anesthesia and nursing teams to optimize recovery and outcomes for GI

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical / surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice.
• ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• PALS if pediatric care is included within facility scope.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patients’ preoperative and postoperative status per policy.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe pathophysiology.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement plan including recovery from anesthesia and care coordination.
• Administer medications safely using the 8 rights.
• Ensure wound/tissue integrity and monitor fluid/electrolyte balance.
• Communicate patient status to the team and provide education.
