Johns Hopkins University in Washington, DC, is seeking a Patient Service Coordinator/MA for the ambulatory Gastroenterology clinic at Sibley Memorial Hospital. The role combines front-desk patient coordination with medical assisting duties, under physician supervision and within a dynamic healthcare team.

The position involves patient check-in/out, scheduling, pre-registration, and light clinical tasks, with a schedule Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and Medical Assistant certification required.
One year of work experience in customer service.
Additional education may substitute for required experience as permitted.

Responsabilités

Offer friendly, courteous, and confidential assistance to every patient to ensure a positive experience.
Use automated systems to schedule, pre-register, check-in, and check-out.
Schedule patients for laboratory tests, medical examinations, and consultations.
Verify and enter pre-registration and insurance information into the system.
Assist with basic insurance and third-party queries and explain payment policies.
Print and mail directions, maps, and department information to patients.
Input diagnostic and procedure codes to TAP system for billing.
Coordinate visits within the department or between departments.
