Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, confidential assistance to patients for a positive experience at Johns Hopkins Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
• Utilize automated systems for patient scheduling, pre-registration, check-in and check-out.
• Schedule laboratory tests, examinations and consultations; relay preparation information to patients.
• Enter and verify demographic and insurance data; obtain pre-certifications as needed.
• Register patients for clinical appointments and manage appointment entry, check-in and check-out.
• Assist with billing related tasks and discuss charges with patients and families.
• Maintain patient charts and ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of records.
