Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience scheduling surgeries/procedures preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT Coding and medical terminology preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Excel or scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule patient procedures and surgeries as ordered by physicians, including pre- and post-operative services.
• Provide patients and their families with clear, timely instructions on procedure preparation and follow-up requirements.
• Accurately communicate patient financial obligations and insurance-related details when applicable.
• Work closely with providers to ensure proper scheduling, including securing surgical block time at affiliated hospitals or surgical centers.
• Submit and manage physician orders to endoscopy units and surgical facilities.
• Monitor schedules to ensure accuracy and timeliness, adjusting for delays or cancellations as needed.
• Respond to patient and provider inquiries regarding scheduling issues; escalate complex concerns to the appropriate departments with recommended resolutions.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational privacy standards at all times.
• Support additional administrative and operational tasks as needed.
