Job summary

Stellantis Auburn Hills is seeking a Gasoline Engine Controls Development Engineer to design and enhance production algorithms for engine control systems. The role collaborates with a cross-functional team across vehicle, HIL, dyno, and virtual environments to ensure robust implementations.

The successful candidate will validate designs against requirements, provide technical guidance, and contribute to control strategy decisions that meet program timelines and high-level functional needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Excellent knowledge of internal combustion engines.
• Knowledge of modern and classical control principles.
• Experience in data acquisition and data processing.
• Working knowledge of engine development, emissions development, engine technologies, and competitive products.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Teamwork and ability to work independently; good communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop features and enhance algorithms for gasoline engine controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across vehicle, HIL, dyno, virtual environments and rapid prototyping.
• Interface with systems and calibration teams to implement strategies and validate against requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and act as subject matter expert.
• Develop plans, track progress, and present technical reports to management and project chiefs.
• Participate in decision-making regarding control strategy design to meet objectives.
