Job summary

Okaloosa Gas is seeking a Service Technician trainee to join our Marketing department. The role offers on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and progression from apprentice to higher technician levels while maintaining natural gas systems.

You will learn meter maintenance and emergency procedures with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service. Apprentices may advance through levels up to Technician II/III, with ongoing training and required OQ compliance.

Qualifications

• High School plus one to three years of experience.
• Knowledge of safety procedures associated with natural gas and appliances.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and maps.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the District’s natural gas systems from riser to home piping.
• Performs meter reads, removals, pulls meters, and assists with Cap procedures.
• Turns gas service on to new/existing customers and conducts heat/gas inspections.
• Checks for leaks and ensures operating pressure; documents work orders.
