Job summary

Chord Energy is seeking a Plant Operator for its Ray Gas Plant in Ray, ND. The role involves operating processing plant engines, pumps and separation equipment, loading/unloading plant processes, and controlling compression to maintain temperatures, flow, and pressures.

Incumbents work under close supervision with on‑the‑job training; required H2S training and adherence to EH&S guidelines. The position offers a 7 days on, 7 days off rotating day/night schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 2 years operating experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to learn company‑specific programs (MS Office, etc.).
• Knowledge of safety regulations for gas plant operations.
• Physical requirements: lift up to 50 pounds, stairs, kneel, sit, walk.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pressure levels, gauges and production flows.
• Perform regular plant maintenance and operational changes.
• Ensure plant is operated in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support safety by enforcing policies and procedures.
• Purge plant systems, piping, and vessels as needed.
• Determine product type in plant: gas/liquids.
