Job summary

Energy Transfer is seeking a plant operator to manage compressors, pumps, and related gas processing equipment across our facilities and pipelines. The role focuses on safe, cost-effective operation and adherence to regulatory standards, with opportunities to participate in testing, maintenance, and safety initiatives.

The position requires 24/7 availability, shift rotations, and the ability to work in demanding environments. Exceptional problem solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in 24/7 operations and shift work preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle high stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, and maintain plant equipment including cryogenic plants, compressors, pumps, and control systems.
• Optimize processing by maintaining product specs.
• Respond to alarms and take corrective actions.
• Monitor pressures, temps, flow rates, and levels for safe operation.
• Maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards and report readings.
• Participate in safety programs and pass required trainings.
• Coordinate with control centers and other groups.
• Oversee third-party construction and maintenance activities.
• Perform lab tests, diagnose problems, and assist technical staff.
