Job summary

Gevo, a next generation, low-carbon fuel company, is seeking a Utility Operator for our Richardton, ND ethanol plant. This role focuses on maximizing production efficiency, quality, and compliance within a team that runs 12‑hour rotating shifts.

You will gain comprehensive training and provide essential relief for Process Operators while supporting scheduling needs. As part of a dedicated crew, you will monitor plant processes, assist with grain handling and load‑out, and contribute to QA

Qualifications

• Experience operating plant control systems (DCS/PLC) safely and efficiently.
• Ability to monitor and document equipment performance and process data.
• Commitment to safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant processes using DCS & PLC systems to ensure safe, timely, and cost‑effective production.
• Conduct regular equipment checks and troubleshoot operational issues in the field.
• Maintain accurate daily logs of plant equipment.
• Assist in grain handling, shipping, and receiving operations.
• Participate in the plant's QA sampling and testing of process streams.
• Communicate with QA lab to implement policies, maintain QA records, and interpret results.
• Coordinate with maintenance for repairs and preventative tasks.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and assist maintenance technicians with repairs.
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental programs and regulations.
• Maintain clear team communication and update operating procedures and records.
