Job summary

Pivotal Systems is seeking a Product Owner for Gas Flow Controllers to be the voice of the customer and the technical owner throughout the product lifecycle.

You will work with customers to define requirements, specs, and roadmap priorities, while partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, and Sales to ensure successful development, field performance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field; MS or MBA preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in product management, ownership, or customer-facing technical roles for hardware.
• 3+ years owning a product line, roadmap, or major product platform.
• Proven experience defining technical requirements directly with customers.
• Experience taking hardware products from concept through release and lifecycle.
• Experience managing field issues using 8D and FMEA.
• Knowledge of NPI, ECR/ECO, BOMs, config control, and revision management.
• Experience with global factories or contract manufacturers.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation, sensors, electromechanical systems, or fluid/pressure control.
• Strong customer communication, technical writing, presentations, and cross-functional leadership.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary product contact for key customers and translate needs into requirements and priorities.
• Define and maintain technical specs, requirements, acceptance criteria, and configurations.
• Manage the product backlog and prioritize development based on needs and strategy.
• Represent customer in design reviews, prototype evaluations, and release decisions.
• Lead lifecycle activities from concept and NPI through end-of-life.
• Own customer-facing response to field issues including escalation and corrective actions.
• Partner with Engineering and Quality on 8D, FMEA, and corrective actions.
• Drive customer feedback into global factories via ECR/ECO and changes.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain for performance across sites.
• Track performance, customer satisfaction, cost, margin, quality, and roadmap status.
• Support Sales with technical presentations, proposals, and discussions.
• Align cross-functional teams across R&D, Operations, Quality, Service, Supply Chain, Sales.
