Job summary

NiSource Inc. seeks a Plant and Service Combination to perform on-site gas on/off, meter reading, and leak location using gas detection instruments.

Responsibilities include leading staff, operating light earth-moving equipment, installing/removing meters and regulators, and ensuring service reliability. Candidates must have a high school diploma, be able to obtain CDL and DOT certification, and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools for field repairs.
• Must obtain Ohio CDL and DOT truck certification within 3 months.
• Basic math, clear records, and good communication.
• Ability to work in a team and pass tests.
• Able to work overtime and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform field technician duties and lead others in leakage repairs.
• Operate light earth-moving equipment.
• Maintain equipment: cleaning, greasing, lubrication, transport.
• Provide tie-ins, leakage repair, and related construction operations.
• Establish or reestablish service and inspect lines.
• Install and remove gas meters and regulators.
