Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Street Service team member to locate gas distribution facilities, perform repairs, and supervise a small crew in accordance with policy, procedures, and approved codes.

The role requires a valid Ohio CDL and AMPP certification, ability to work in all weather, and strong teamwork. Candidates should reside within 25 miles of the Operations Center and be able to handle emergency response obligations.

Qualifications

• Two years experience as Fitter or equivalent.
• Ability to use various types of tools for repairs of plant facilities.
• Must possess a valid Ohio commercial driver's license (CDL) and certification to operate company trucks under DOT/Ohio Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for intra-state drivers.
• Ability to prepare legible records and understand written and oral communications.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Work in all weather conditions.
• Subject to DOT Anti-Drug Plan and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan (AMPP) regulations.
• Live within 25 miles and 30 minutes from the Operations Center.

Responsibilities

• Primary duties include locating gas distribution facilities (ie. Main and Service lines), as well as all of the duties normally performed by a Street Service A including acting as lead employee over one or more employees engaged in pinpointing leakage, making repairs, and replacing services or portions of mains according to policy/procedures and approved codes.
