Job summary

NiSource Inc. in Ohio is seeking a Street Serviceman A (C21) to locate gas distribution facilities, identify leaks, and perform repairs or service replacements according to policy and code.

The role leads one or more crew members, requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years as Fitter or equivalent, a valid Ohio CDL, and the ability to read and record clear notes. OSHA knowledge and DIS/WMS familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited high school or GED.
• Two years of experience as Fitter or equivalent.
• Ability to use various types of tools for repairs of plant facilities.
• Must possess a valid Ohio commercial driver's license (CDL) and DOT/OCSR certification for intra-state drivers.
• Able to prepare legible records and understand written and oral communications.
• Able to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Locate gas distribution facilities (Main and Service lines).
• Act as lead employee over one or more employees engaged in pinpointing leakage, making repairs, and replacing services or portions of mains according to policy/procedures and approved codes.
