Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking an entry level Operations Field/Service Technician to install, repair and maintain gas distribution facilities in Coshocton, OH.

You will gain hands-on experience and progress to Technician 2 after two years with additional training and Operator Qualifications. The role requires the ability to operate basic field equipment, read gauges, and work with a team to serve residential and commercial customers.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a mechanical aptitude and be able to use various types of hand tools needed for repair of field facilities.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations, prepare legible records and understand written and oral communications.
• Must have ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to follow through on assignments with little or no direct supervision.
• Requires skill in reading/interpreting gauges & dials.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and replace distribution facilities and operate maintenance of construction equipment.
• Operate light earth-moving equipment and transport equipment/materials.
• Inspect service lines, install meters/regulators, test for leaks, and advise on installations.
• Respond to gas service inquiries and emergency calls; read meters and collect delinquent bills.
• Pass pre-employment assessments and background checks; comply with DOT AMPP regulations.
