Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking an entry level Field/Service Technician in the Coshocton area. You will progress to Technician 2 after two years with required training and Operator Qualifications (OQs).

The role involves installing, repairing, and replacing distribution facilities, testing service lines for leaks, and responding to gas service inquiries. OSHA guidelines and DOT regulations apply.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a mechanical aptitude and be able to use various types of hand tools needed for repair of field facilities.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations, prepare legible records and understand written and oral communications.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and replace distribution facilities such as main lines and services and operate and maintain construction equipment.
• Serve residential and commercial customer base.
• Operate light earth-moving equipment and maintain it (cleaning, greasing, lubricating).
• Install and remove gas meters, settings, and regulators; inspect and test service lines for leaks.
