Job summary

TC Energy is offering a Student Intern position in Virginia for May–August 2027 to support field operations and learn with experienced technicians. The role emphasizes safe, reliable energy delivery and hands-on work with natural gas compression equipment and field procedures.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a technical program, will complete a term before May 2027, and plan to return to full-time studies after the term.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Mechanical, Chemical, Pipeline, Automation, or related technical / trades program.
• Completion of at least one academic term prior to May 2027
• Returning to full-time studies immediately following the work term
• Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the work term

Responsibilities

• Support field operations while demonstrating TC Energy's core values of Safety In Every Step, Personal Accountability, One Team, and Active Learning
• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of natural gas compressors and related equipment
• Gain hands-on experience using field tools, equipment, and operational procedures
• Learn and apply safety protocols and procedures for field work
• Participate in site visits, equipment inspections, and project activities under supervision
• Develop technical and problem-solving skills applicable to a field technician role
