Job summary

NiSource is seeking an entry-level Operations Field Technician in Ohio. The role progresses to Field Technician 2 after two years, with training and OQs completed.

You will install, repair, and replace distribution facilities, operate light earth-moving equipment, and maintain vehicles and tools to serve residential and commercial customers. The position requires mechanical aptitude, tool use, a valid Ohio CDL within 3 months, basic math, and the ability to work in a team and in all weather

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools for field repair.
• Must obtain Ohio CDL and DOT intrastate certification within 3 months.
• Basic math, legible record-keeping, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines.
• Follows OSHA and AMPP regulations.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and replace distribution facilities (main lines and services).
• Operate and maintain light earth-moving equipment (backhoe, side boom, tamper, hydra-crane).
• Transport equipment and materials; perform routine maintenance (cleaning, greasing, lubrication).
• Respond to emergency calls and overtime as required.
