Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking a Scheduling Leader in Merrillville, IN to direct and prioritize scheduling of work and allocate resources for reliable customer service.

The role focuses on optimizing personnel and materials for field operations within a major utility group. You will partner with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Procurement and field leaders to meet budgetary goals and service standards, including storm support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years’ experience in Distribution Operations or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and project management skills (analytical and organizational).
• Ability to quickly assess and make sound decisions.
• Proficiency in data gathering and analysis to inform decisions.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Basic understanding of the utility industry and safety/compliance requirements.
• Driver license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, prioritization, and direction of work and resource allocation for field operations.
• Analyze workload levels and decisions to meet budgetary goals.
• Identify, track, and resolve issues internally and externally.
• Assess obstacles in execution and prioritize solutions.
• Direct clerical resources on projects and participate in performance management.
• Identify opportunities to improve procedures, processes, or personnel.
• Coordinate with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and material handling.
• Support short- and long-term corporate objectives and storm response as needed.
