Dispatcher

Fort Wayne, IN (Local/Onsite)

12 Months W2 contract role with opportunity to convert to perm

Schedule: Rotating shift work is required.

Pay Rate: Up to $42/HR

Rotating shift is based on a 14-week rotation as follows

• 12hr Night shifts 6pm - 6am
• 12hr Day shifts 6am - 6pm
• 8hr Evenings shifts 2pm - 10pm
• 10hr Day shifts 7am - 5pm
• On Call = Varies, but all overtime if needed.

Role Summary:

Responsible for assisting in the safe and reliable operation, dispatching, and restoration of facilities for the Distribution System as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

• Effectively operate company communication equipment.
• Track crew locations and ongoing work on the distribution system.
• Dispatch service personnel to respond to outage and emergency situations.
• Authorize the energizing and restoration of distribution facilities.
• Maintain accurate outage records.
• Maintain accurate records of abnormal and defective equipment for distribution facilities.

Requirements:

• Rotating shift work required.
• Must maintain a high availability for call-out response.
• Due to call-out responsibility, applicants must live within or be willing to relocate to within 30 minutes of the reporting location.
• Must be able to work under pressure during periods of critical system conditions and deal with diverse situations simultaneously.
• Critical decisions must be made affecting reliability and priority of service to customers.
• Failure to issue correct instructions could affect personnel safety, welfare of the general public, equipment damage, loss of revenue and adverse publicity.
