Job summary

Consumers Energy in Michigan is seeking an Associate Gas Controller to dispatch supply and make operational decisions to maintain safe and reliable service for natural gas customers.

The role requires developing low-complexity operational plans, communicating with Gas Operations, and monitoring the gas system using SCADA. A technical degree is required, with a qualified Gas Controller within 6–15 months; relocation is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, scientific or related field.
• Associate’s degree in a technical, scientific or related field with 2 years of gas field or pipeline operations experience.
• High school diploma with 4 years of gas field or pipeline operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct operational support personnel in abnormal operating and emergency conditions.
• Communicate with Gas Operations to formulate and execute basic operating plans.
• Use computer-assisted applications to prepare low complexity analysis documents.
• Assist with monitoring, controlling and operating the gas transmission and distribution system.
