Job summary

Pepco is seeking a Sr. Gas System Controller to ensure safe, reliable operation of gas transmission and distribution systems 24/7. The role requires monitoring SCADA systems, coordinating with gas supply and pipelines, and leading operational briefings and incident responses.

The position emphasizes adherence to CRMP, efficient gas management, and collaboration across internal teams to meet customer demand. A bachelor's degree in engineering or business is required with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to operate independently and react quickly to changing gas system conditions.
• Familiarity with SCADA, CRM rules and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pressures, flows, temperatures and odorization on gas distribution systems; initiate corrective actions.
• Forecast demand and gas supply requirements based on weather data and historical demand.
• Interface with pipelines for nominations and confirmations; coordinate with Gas Supply & Transportation.
• Lead daily operational briefings and communicate plans across management.
• Oversee maintenance/ construction activities impacting system operations.
