Job summary

Consumers Energy seeks a qualified Associate Gas Controller to dispatch gas supply and make critical operational decisions to maintain safe, reliable service for Michigan customers. The role requires communicating plans to field staff and executing low complexity operational tasks from the control room, with adaptability for shifts.

Based in Jackson, MI, the position will be onsite at the Parnall Office with relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical/scientific field or related discipline.
• Associate's degree with 2+ years in gas field or pipeline operations may substitute.
• High school diploma with 4+ years in gas field or pipeline ops may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Direct operational support personnel in abnormal or emergency conditions.
• Coordinate with Gas Operations to formulate and execute plan.
• Use computer tools to prepare basic business analysis documents.
• Monitor and operate gas transmission and distribution while meeting regulatory needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
