Job summary

Valmont is seeking a Shift Supervisor for the Global Coating Division in New Jersey. You will supervise, train, and mentor 10–20 production staff on the shift, ensuring safety, quality, and efficient operation of the production floor.

You will schedule work, monitor performance, and promote continuous productivity improvements while coaching staff and upholding company policies. A Bachelor's or Associate Degree plus leadership experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of supervisory or management experience with strong leadership abilities.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team interaction.
• Capability to recognize hazardous substances and chemical safety responsibilities.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret documents.
• Proficiency with basic computer entry software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, motivate, and mentor 10–20 production employees on shift.
• Assign stations and duties, maximize manpower, machines and equipment use.
• Ensure safety, quality checks, and shop floor policies are followed.
• Promote productivity improvements and consistent performance monitoring.
• Train new employees on divisional activities and safety procedures.
• Administer company policies fairly and support divisional objectives.
