Job summary

Valmont is seeking a highly motivated 3rd Shift Maintenance Crew Lead in the Global Coatings Division. The role involves repairs and maintenance of machinery, conveyors, and equipment on a Sunday–Thursday 9pm–5:30am shift, with overtime as needed.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED and at least five years in general maintenance with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and plumbing skills, plus blueprint reading abilities. Safety consciousness and teamwork are essential traits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum five (5) years of maintenance experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and plumbing skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, welding layouts and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as hoist motors, pumps, belts, fans, air conditioners, conveyors, etc.
• Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
• Disassembles machines and repairs and replaces broken parts.
• Uses all types of power tools and hand tools.
• Repairs woodwork, minor electrical problems, plumbing and buildings.
• Adjustment of functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
• Keeps work area clean; observes all safety procedures.
• Interprets blueprints, works from sketches or verbal instructions.
• Maintains all types of forklifts and keeps in operating condition.
• Contributes to the design and fabrication of production fixtures and racks.
• Carries out preventative maintenance program for all production equipment, mechanical devices, building and land, including maintaining maintenance records and preventive maintenance checklists.
