Job summary

MSD in Rahway, NJ is offering a co-op in our Future Talent Program within the Research & Development Division. The role provides growth through projects supporting drug-device development, with opportunities to present findings in oral and written formats.

You will work with experienced scientists on risk management, human factors, and literature reviews, contributing to a multi-functional team while gaining exposure to FDA-relevant standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled undergraduate in sophomore, junior, or senior year in a relevant field.
• Graduate student pursuing a Masters or PhD in related disciplines.
• Available to work full-time for up to 6 months in 2027.
• Completed at least 2 years of studies toward bachelor’s degree by June 2027.
• Able to apply user-centered design, human factors, and risk management to product research.
• Experience with literature reviews and research methodologies (interviews, surveys).
• Ability to analyze large information sets and present findings clearly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support human factors activities including user needs, mapping, usability studies, and training materials.
• Maintain device risk management docs, conduct risk assessments, and update mitigation strategies.
• Perform literature/database reviews and summarize implications for risk work.
• Conduct primary user research via surveys and interviews to guide research directions.
• Analyze data and distill insights into actionable deliverables and projects.
