Xcimer Energy is offering a 12-week engineering internship in Denver, CO, across Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, Nuclear, and Software disciplines. Interns will work on laser-driven inertial fusion hardware and software, mentored by industry experts, tackling real-world challenges in structures, optics, pulsed power, and manufacturing.

Qualified candidates must be enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in mechanical, electrical, physics, nuclear, or related fields.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, nuclear engineering, or related engineering field.
• Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modeling and simulation.
• Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for fusion energy and sustainable tech.
• Ability to work full-time onsite through the 12-week program in Denver, CO.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and hardware development.
• Mechanical and thermal analysis using finite element analysis (FEA).
• Systems engineering for complex laser-driven hardware.
• Manufacturing engineering support for prototypes.
• Electrical engineering work in pulsed power domains.
• Control systems engineering tasks.
• Computational/software engineering and simulations.
• Nuclear/optical/plasma physics related tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with mentors and cross-disciplinary teams.
