Job summary

Xcimer Energy is seeking motivated interns for a 12-week program at our Denver, Colorado headquarters. You will contribute to laser-driven inertial fusion hardware and software across disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, and Software Engineering.

Interns work under an industry expert mentor to tackle real-world challenges in fusion energy. Qualified candidates are enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program and bring hands-on project experience, CAD proficiency, and

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program in engineering or related discipline.
• Experience applying technical skills outside the classroom (projects, volunteering, personal projects, lab work, prior internships).
• Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modeling and simulation.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Willingness to work full-time onsite in Denver, CO.
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and hardware development.
• Mechanical and thermal analysis using finite element analysis.
• Systems engineering and manufacturing engineering tasks.
• Electrical engineering (pulsed power) and control systems engineering.
• Computational and software engineering (simulations).
• Nuclear engineering and optical engineering tasks.
• Plasma physics and related research activities.
