Job summary

Xcimer Energy invites engineering interns to join a 12-week summer program at our Denver, CO headquarters, developing laser-driven inertial fusion hardware and software.

Interns work across Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, and Software disciplines, mentored by industry experts to tackle real-world challenges in structures, optics, pulsed power, simulations, and manufacturing. Enrolled students in related fields are encouraged to apply and must be able to work onsite for the full duration.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, nuclear engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with CAD for 3D modeling and simulations.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and hardware development.
• Mechanical and thermal analysis using finite element methods.
• Systems and manufacturing engineering tasks.
• Electrical engineering (pulsed power) and control systems engineering.
• Software simulations and computational engineering.
• Nuclear, optical, and plasma physics related work.
