Job summary

sci is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support for funeral operations, interact with the public, answer questions, and assist with services as requested by funeral home clients and management.

The role requires strong compassion and communication, with duties including greeting families, coordinating service logistics, and supporting mortuary staff, under company policies and values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases; ability and willingness to learn.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services including setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes.
• Prepares documents related to services and cremations as directed by management.
• Assists with preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting, and operation of crematory as permitted by law.
• Answer phones and perform office duties with a multiline phone system and basic office equipment.
• Run errands for floral deliveries and supplies.
• Serve as an usher and assist with transportation needs for services.
• Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family transport.
• Ensure refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assist with visitations, memorial and funeral services including chapel setup and greeting families.
